Computer Performance Engineering,
Inc. (CPEI) is an independent software company based in California, and applying its
technical expertise on developing the 21st century software maintenance and AutoCorrect
tools.
VHUNT is more than a string search, VHUNT has extended capability that can assist in
understanding the troublesome Variables. VHUNT output includes software maintenance COST,
Variables impact analysis, and can save valuable resources (Time) by using VHUNT source
code AutoCorrect (Code Renovation) feature.
The most expensive phase of the software life cycle is its maintenance. Utmost in the software maintenance is an understanding of program variables. The software maintenance can NOT be performed without a complete understanding of program variables. Source code modules are processed by VHUNT to locate and highlight those variables that are derived from the seed database. This process is extended (recursively) to all variables that reference or are referenced by suspect variables. VHUNT produces reports containing:
- Metrics summarizing the extent of the required analysis effort
(Variables Impact Analysis report)- ROM Cost to amend suspect variables
- Listings of the suspect source code variables
- Optionally performs source code AutoCorrect (Code Renovation)
on the suspect source code variables
*NOTE: (code slicing) Allows viewing of all source code affecting by a given variable or statement
